I visited the DreamHost forum the other day, and discovered they have finally upgraded the version of PHP installed on their shared hosting servers. They have been stuck on 5.4 for years. Now I have the option to run my sites from 5.5 or 5.6. I updated a few sites to 5.6 and it’s running well so far. They also moved my account to a server with SSD drives.
